Gregor Wynne Arney, PLLC Is Pleased To Announce The Election Of Michael Wynne To Director, Texas State Bar, Dist. 4, Pl. 4

HOUSTON – Michael Wynne has been elected Director District 4, Place 4 of the Texas State Bar, effective June 22, 2023. In this role, he will assist in the improvement of the State Bar and legal profession and serve for three years.

Wynne holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and has been a member of the State Bar since 1992. He served a previous term as State Bar Director 2015-18, and is returning at this time primarily due to his concern about the potential unintended consequences of premature deployment of artificial intelligence. Wynne has served multiple terms as Chair, Criminal Law and Procedure Section of the Houston Bar Association and in various other leadership capacities.

He practices white collar criminal defense, including election law, environmental enforcement, public corruption, embezzlement, sanctions and export restrictions, asset forfeiture, money laundering, and health care fraud.

Gregor Wynne Arney is based in Houston and advises, represents, and partners with individuals, small businesses, and companies of various sizes in the State of Texas, throughout the nation, and around the globe. Its attorneys assist business and corporate clients in navigating the increasingly complex intersection between the business community and legal landscape. Gregor Wynne Arney has assembled one of the strongest white-collar defense teams in the state, with expertise in state, federal and appellate aspects of the practice.

"I look forward to developing a uniform system for electronic filing throughout the state, expanding the incubator initiative - particularly for new lawyers burdened with student loan debt - and establishing a standing committee to study the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal and judicial systems," Wynne said.
