Adam S. Weiss
Attorney Adam Samuel Weiss grew up in New Jersey in a family with law in its blood—his father was a judge, whose own father and uncle practiced law together in Paterson, NJ for many decades.
He first practiced law in the Houston office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where his area of expertise lay in the legal issues facing organizations based, or doing business, in Mexico.
During three years as a strategic management consultant in the Houston office of McKinsey & Co., Inc., Adam served regional and global clients in a variety of industries, including energy, consumer electronics, transportation, food service, and the performing arts. He has also been a principal player in several start-ups at the intersection of technology and consumer services: eLaw.com (online legal content), SnapNames.com (internet domain names), and Earth Class Mail (online postal mail). His experience in the legal recruiting industry led him to author the book, The Lateral Lawyer: Opportunities and Pitfalls for the Law Firm Partner Switching Firms.
Adam earned his B.A. in History, summa cum laude, from Princeton University, where his senior thesis on the history of the Jewish community of Argentina won Princeton’s Latin American Studies Program Senior Thesis Prize. His J.D. is from Harvard Law School.
Adam has always been active in civic and community affairs. During his time at Harvard he represented low-income clients in housing disputes. He also served as Vice President of Neighborhood Relations for the Lincoln’s Inn Society, a spirited law student social organization that owned a residence in Cambridge, MA, and on whose behalf he appeared before the City Council and Licensing Commission. Among other roles, Adam also served as president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara, CA.
Adam’s passion lies in advocating for his clients, as he provides seasoned counsel focused on solving their serious legal issues. His clients appreciate Adam’s mastery of solving complex problems for individuals and their organizations.
Adam Weiss brings together his legal experience and business background to provide sound legal counsel to clients of Gregor Wynne Arney, PLLC in the areas of general civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense.
