Jon Muschenheim

Jon Muschenheim joined Gregor Wynne Arney’s elite team of trial attorneys, on May 1, 2024, bringing over 26 years of experience as an Assistant United States Attorney, preceded by ten years in private practice.

Jon has a wealth of experience and expertise in federal investigations, federal regulatory matters, criminal defense, and civil defense. He has been the first chair trial attorney on close to sixty jury trials.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Jon spent over ten years as a supervisor leading two different sections: first, the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDTEF), and, then the Financial Investigations Unit, which focuses on federal seizures and asset forfeiture. ln the Financial Investigations Unit, he had supervisory authority over countless fraud cases, gambling cases, health care fraud cases, public corruption cases, import/export cases, narcotics cases, and national security cases. His unit also initiated numerous civil forfeiture actions. Jon’s extensive involvement in investigative and prosecutorial matters is invaluable to individuals facing federal and state investigations or criminal charges.

Mr. Muschenheim was the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) coordinator for the Southern District of Texas for the last five years, ending in 2023. Jon also served the Department of Justice, since 2007, by providing training to federal agents, attorneys, and analysts around the United States on matters regarding such things as money laundering, financial investigations, and foreign evidence. He has worked with virtually every federal agency that his criminal defense clients might encounter, including NASA OlG, FDIC OlG, SBA OIG, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, National Park Service, U.S. State Department, HSl, lRS, DEA, FBl, EPA, ATF, FinCEN, and the OCC.
