Alexis Foster
A native Houstonian, Attorney Alexis Foster has spent her law career practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, employment, contract, real estate and health law, and as outside general counsel for several privately held multimillion-dollar steel companies.
After graduating cum laude from Baylor School of Law, Alexis was accepted into the Master of Laws program for Health Law at the University of Houston Law Center. After graduating summa cum laude from that program, Alexis has utilized her LL.M to advise clients regarding their federally mandated reporting duties under the Medicare Secondary Payer Mandatory Reporting Provisions for Non-Group Health Plans, Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 and has given presentations on those topics to national audiences.
Upon obtaining both her J.D. and LL.M, Alexis had the distinct honor of serving as a law clerk and briefing attorney with Texas’s highest civil court in the chambers of the Honorable Justice Eva Guzman of the Supreme Court of Texas.
In recent years, Attorney Foster has focused her practice primarily on representing domestic and international companies in both litigation and as outside general counsel. Alexis routinely advises clients on pre-litigation matters, such as lien perfection, contract negotiation, debt, domestic and international supply chain issues, and other matters related to the sale of goods under the Uniform Commercial Code. Through her work as outside general counsel to privately held companies where she reports directly to company presidents and boards of directors, Alexis routinely vets, retains, oversees, and works with a variety of outside counsel.
Alexis has achieved certifications of competency in both OCTG and steel pipe. Alexis’ unique understanding of the industries she serves allows her to provide clients with knowledgeable counsel regarding the effects of litigation from both a legal and business perspective, thus her approach to any business dispute is both practical and creative.
