Attorney Michael Wynne Speaks With KPRC Channel 2, As Questions Arise Around Former HISD Trustee, Rhonda Skillern-Jones, Who Has Been Vacationing Since Being Found Guilty Of Conspiracy Tied To Bribes In 2021

Former Houston Independent School District Board of Education President, Rhonda Skillern-Jones, entered a guilty plea in October 2021 for conspiracy tied to bribes within the district, and has spent the nearly two years since living life to the fullest. This year alone she has visited Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a birthday celebration, the West African nation of Ghana, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, according to social media posts shared during her travels and court requests. This leaves many asking when Skillern-Jones will go to federal prison.

In an interview with KPRC Channel 2 former federal prosecutor Michael Wynne said, “It’s disappointing, it’s troubling….. She must be doing a whole lot for the government in some other case.”
